Cerritos details
Parking, stairs & setup
Two things to check in Cerritos. Some tracts have HOA quiet hours around 10 pm, and the neighbors are close, so an evening party that starts by 6 or 6:30 finishes the show with time to spare. And most patio covers sit below the 10 ft of clearance the grill needs, so the chef sets up just beyond the cover's edge.
Load-in is easy: driveways for the truck, side gates for the cart. We need a flat area about the size of a king-size bed on concrete or packed ground; we bring a mat for pavers and turf. If your party is on a cul-de-sac, tell us and the chef can set up on the driveway so the yard stays for the tables.
Not sure your space works? Send a photo with your quote request and we will confirm the setup spot before your date.
Space & weather plan
We need a flat outdoor area about the size of a king-size bed and about 10 ft of overhead clearance. Best evening months in Cerritos: April through November; best lunch months: April through June and October through November.
July averages a high of 88°F against 65°F in January. No month here averages above 93°F, so Cerritos takes daytime bookings comfortably across most of the year. Rain is worth planning around in March, when about 27% of days see measurable rain — a 10×10 pop-up tent over the chef station saves the party, and guests can eat indoors. Evenings run longest in June (sunset around 8:05pm); start 90 minutes before sunset for the golden-hour show.
Travel: none for Cerritos — it sits inside our free 50-mile radius, so your quote carries no travel fee at all.

What we actually buy
Beef: USDA Choice Angus top sirloin. Choice is the grade above Select. We buy Angus program beef rather than whatever is cheapest that week.
Shrimp: BAP-certified. Best Aquaculture Practices — an independent certification covering the farm, the hatchery, the feed and the processing plant.
Salmon: Atlantic salmon fillet, skinless. Portioned fillet, not trim or belly offcuts.
Chicken: Boneless, skinless breast. Hatched, raised and harvested in the USA. Breast meat only — no thigh substitution.
Lobster tail: Wild-caught Caribbean spiny lobster. Our premium upgrade. Wild-caught, not farmed.
Sauces: Terry Ho’s yum yum sauce and Japanese ginger dressing. The ones you already recognise from the restaurant. Both contain egg.
Allergies: Our standard soy sauce is not gluten free, so a gluten-free guest should have their own gluten-free soy and teriyaki on hand and we'll cook their portion with it. We can't promise a nut- or sesame-free table — the sauces and gyoza are commercial products, the gyoza contain sesame, and one sauce is made in a plant that also handles peanuts. Tell us the allergy when you book and we'll check the labels in use for your date.
Popular Cerritos parties
Multi-Generation Family Dinners. Grandparents, cousins, and kids in one yard. Everyone gets their own two proteins cooked to order, so the table with four diets still eats together.
Graduations. Whitney, Cerritos High, and Gahr families in June, usually hosting more relatives than the house has chairs for. We bring tables and chairs if you need them.
Lunar New Year, Diwali & Fiestas. Cerritos celebrates a full calendar. A chef at the house means the host is at the party instead of in the kitchen for two days.
Birthdays & Sweet Sixteens. The fire show and the egg toss carry a teen party on their own; parents book it because nobody has to entertain anyone.
See how each celebration plays out: birthdays, pool parties, family reunions and more party ideas.
Where we set up in Cerritos
Covered-Patio Tract Homes. The 1970s and 80s houses south of the 91 have solid patio covers and pools. The grill sits past the cover, the table under it, and the pool deck seats the overflow.
Cul-de-Sac Driveways. Wide driveways on quiet cul-de-sacs work well for bigger parties: the chef sets up at the top, the tables run down, and nobody blocks a neighbor.
Two-Story Homes With Side Gates. Our grill cart clears a 30-inch gate, so the chef rolls straight to the back without coming through the house.
Why Cerritos hosts book us
Cerritos hosts the kind of dinner where three generations sit at one table and the food has to impress the grandparents. A chef cooking at your patio, with steak, shrimp, and salmon going on the grill in front of everyone, does that in a way a catering tray never will, and it gives the kids something to watch.
We cook throughout Cerritos, Artesia, Norwalk, La Palma, La Mirada, Hawaiian Gardens, and the Buena Park side of the county line. Flat rate $59.90 per adult, $29.90 per child 5–12, and kids under 5 eat free, $599 event minimum, setup and cleanup included, and no travel fee.
Cerritos hibachi FAQ
Is there a travel fee to Cerritos, Artesia, or Norwalk?
No. All of them sit inside our free 50-mile radius, so your quote carries no travel fee at all.
We have vegetarians and a couple of guests who eat halal. Can you cook for them?
Yes. Tofu counts as a protein for anyone who wants it, and every guest picks their own two, so dietary needs are handled per plate rather than for the whole table. Tell us the counts when you book.
Can you handle 30 guests?
Yes. One chef serves up to 28 guests; larger parties get a second chef and grill so everyone eats together. Give us the count and the quote reflects it.
What does hibachi at home cost in Cerritos?
$59.90 per adult, $29.90 per child 5–12, and kids under 5 eat free, $599 event minimum — chef, grill, 2 proteins per guest, garlic fried rice, vegetables, salad, the live show, setup, and cleanup included. Weekday Special pricing ($54.90/adult, Mon–Thu, any party size) applies here too.
How much space do you need in Cerritos?
A flat area about the size of a king-size bed for the grill plus roughly 10 ft of overhead clearance, in open air — a patio, deck, driveway, or yard all work. Enclosed rooms and covered balconies do not. Send a photo when you book and we'll confirm the setup spot before your date.
Is this an indoor or outdoor party?
The cooking is outdoors; the eating does not have to be. A live teppanyaki grill throws real smoke and grease and will set off a smoke alarm indoors, so the grill always stays outside — on a patio, deck, driveway, yard, or roof terrace, with about 10 ft of overhead clearance. Your guests can absolutely sit and eat inside. Plenty of Cerritos parties run exactly that way: the chef cooks on the patio and plates come indoors, which is what we'd suggest on a hot afternoon or a cold night.
Can we book a lunch or daytime slot?
Yes. Because the party is outdoors, the right answer depends on your city and the season — midday stays comfortable near the coast for most of the year, while inland and Valley cities are best at lunch roughly October through May and better at sunset in high summer. Daytime slots are usually easier to get than weekend evenings. Tell us your date and preferred time and we'll tell you honestly whether it works.
What happens if we need to cancel or reschedule?
Cancel or reschedule at least 72 hours before your event at no cost. Inside 72 hours we may not be able to refund in full. If rain is the problem, a 10'x10' pop-up tent over the chef's station usually saves the party — you provide the tent, we do not supply them — and guests can eat indoors while the chef cooks outside.
